When you visit the Website or use the Service to make an Order from a Restaurant through the Website, you may be asked to provide information about yourself including your name, contact details (such as telephone and mobile numbers and e-mail address), delivery address. We may also collect information about your usage of the Website and Service and information about you from the materials (such as messages and reviews) you post to the Website and the e-mails or letters you send to us.

Information we collect automatically

We also may receive and store certain information about you and your device(s) automatically when you access or use our Site and Services. This information may include:

  • Information related to the device you use to access our Services;
  • The type of web browser and operating system you use to access our Services;
  • Your IP address;
  • The domain name of your Internet service provider;
  • The specific Snapfood pages you visit, content you view, features you use and the date and time of your visits;
  • Your search terms, the website you visited before you came to our Services, and other clickstream data.

2. Use of your information

2.1. Your information will enable us to provide you with access to the relevant parts of the Website and to supply the Service. It will also enable us to bill you and enable us and/or a Restaurant with whom you have placed an Order to contact you where necessary concerning the Service. For example, we and/or the Restaurant may use your information to provide you with status updates or other information regarding your Order by e-mail, telephone, mobile or mobile messaging (e.g. SMS, MMS etc.). We will also use and analyse the information we collect so that we can administer, support, improve and develop our business, for any other purpose whether statistical or analytical and to help us prevent fraud.

2.2. We may use your information to contact you for your views on the Service and to notify you occasionally about important changes or developments to the Website or the Service.

2.3. Where you have indicated accordingly, you agree that we may use your information to let you know about our other products and services that may be of interest to you including services that may be the subject of direct marketing and we may contact you to do so by telephone, mobile messaging (e.g. SMS, MMS etc.) as well as by e-mail.

2.4. Where you have indicated accordingly, you agree that we may also share information with third parties (including those in the food, drink, marketing and advertising sectors) to use your information in order to let you know about goods and services which may be of interest to you (by telephone, mobile messaging (e.g. SMS, MMS etc.) and/or e-mail) and to help us analyse the information we collect so that we can administer, support, improve and develop our business and services to you.

2.5. If you do not want us to use your data in this way or change your mind about being contacted in the future, please let us know by using the contact details or amending your profile accordingly.

3. Disclosure of your information

3.1. The information you provide to us will be transferred to and stored on our servers.

3.2. If you have consented we may allow carefully selected third parties, including marketing and advertising companies, our affiliates and associates, to contact you occasionally about services that may be of interest to you. They may contact you by telephone, mobile messaging (e.g. SMS, MMS, etc.) as well as by e-mail. If you change your mind about being contacted by these companies in the future, please let us know by using the contact details or by amending your profile accordingly.

3.3. If our business enters into a joint venture with, purchases or is sold to or merged with another business entity, your information may be disclosed or transferred to the target company, our new business partners or owners or their advisors.

3.4. We may use the information that you provide to us if we are under a duty to disclose or share your information in order to comply with (and/or where we believe we are under a duty to comply with) any legal obligation; or in order to enforce the Website Terms and any other agreement; or to protect our rights or the rights of Restaurants or other third parties. This includes exchanging information with other companies and other organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and prevention.

 

4. Security and data retention

4.1. We take steps to protect your information from unauthorised access and against unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction and damage. We will keep your information for a reasonable period or as long as the law requires.

4.2. Where you have chosen a password which allows you to access certain parts of the Website, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We advise you not to share your password with anyone. Unless we negligently disclose your password to a third party, we will not be liable for any unauthorised transactions entered into using your name and password.

4.3. The transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will take steps to protect your information, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to the Website; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

5. Data retention and deletion

Snapfood retains user personal data for as long as necessary for the purposes described above. Snapfood may retain user personal data after a deletion request due to legal or regulatory requirements or for reasons stated in this policy.

Users may ask us to delete or remove their Personal Data and Account by sending an Account & Personal Data Deletion Request with email to our Support Team.

Following the Account & Personal Data Deletion Request, Snapfood deletes the user’s account and data.

6. What data we process 

In the following description of our processing activities, we refer in each case to categories of personal data. A category includes several personal data, which are usually processed together, along with their specific processing purposes.

Personal data is information that can identify you or even make you identifiable.

We generally process the following categories of personal data for the following reasons:

Contact Information:

Name, address, telephone number, email address,

Reason:

If you contact us, we collect this data because we need to know who we are talking to and what we have been talking about so that we can help you with your reason for contacting us. 

Location data:

Address, Postal Code, City, Country, Longitude, Latitude

Reason:

We need these data to be able to deliver your orders. We create the longitude and latitude automatically in order to be able to process your delivery address in our other linked systems, such as our Rider app, and to display your address to our riders.

Profile data:

Name, email address, password, telephone number, delivery addresses

Reason:

This data is profile data, which we absolutely need for our services. Without an email address / telephone number and a password, you cannot create a profile. Together with your name, this is your profile data.

Order information:

Order history, selected stores, invoices, order ID, comments on orders, information on payment method, delivery address and successful orders

Reason:

Each time you place an order, this information will be added to your profile. You can view all this information in your profile at any time. The information should give you an overview of your own interests and previous orders. We will also use the same information to improve our services. In addition, we will anonymize the personal information included in orders when you request a deletion or when your profile becomes inactive in order to continue to use this information in an anonymized form to optimize our services.

Communication data:

Name, email address, telephone number, device ID

Reason:

If you would like to receive a newsletter, an SMS or an in-app push notification from us, we need certain information to send you the messages. Instead of addressing you with "Hey You", we find it more customer friendly to address you with your name. This category of personal information is also used by us to contact you, for example, if a product cannot be delivered and we want to offer you an alternative instead.

Payment information:

Payment method, tokenized credit card information

Reason:

We need this information to track your payments and assign them to the orders you have placed.

Delivery information:

Name, delivery address, telephone number, order ID

Reason:

In accordance with the principle of data minimization, we only provide our couriers and stores with the information that they need from you to prepare and deliver your order.


Contacts List

We have an `Access Contacts` Permission where we ask our users if they want to allow Access Contacts or not. Access contacts is needed if the user wants to find who from his contacts is a user of the app. If user doesn't allow the access contacts permission, he still can use the app but he won't have the option to see who from his contacts is part of the app. We don't store any of user contacts in our servers.  We process users' contacts list information to our server / database, but we don't store those contacts in our server. If user allows access contacts permission, for each contact in user contact list, we check if that contact phone number is already existing user in our database or not. If it isn't, we show to the user a badge `Invite to Snapfood`, if that contact is already part of Snapfood app (meaning is registered before in our app) we show to the user a different badge `Add friend`.  We ask user's permission before reading user's contacts.

Photos:

When you update your profile on Snapfood or when you update your Gallery on Snapfood, you can share with us additional information about you, as well as content such as photos and videos. To add certain content, like pictures or videos, you may allow us to access your camera or photo album. So, only if you consent, we may collect photos and videos (for instance, if you want to update your profile photo, or if you want to update your Gallery on Snapfood.

7.  For which purposes we process data

We may use the information we collect or receive about you for various purposes.


a. To Provide You With the Snapfood Services

We use your information to provide you the Snapfood Services. For example, we use credit card information to complete a transaction or an address to allow the Snapfood Courier to fulfill your delivery.

b. To Maintain, Improve, and Personalize the Snapfood Services

Your information may also be used to improve the content and/or functionality of the Snapfood Services. We may use your information to help us improve offerings for Snapfood and/or our Merchants. We also use your information to personalize your experience. For example, we may personalize the content and features you see when visiting our Services. In addition, we may personalize advertisements, marketing communications, and recommendations to make them more tailored to your interests.

c. To Communicate with You

We use your information to communicate with you. For example, we may send you text messages or other notifications about the status of your orders and deliveries. We may also contact you with promotional offerings or other communications that may be of interest to you. If we send you marketing emails about services that may interest you, each email will contain instructions permitting you to “opt-out” of receiving future email marketing communications.

8. If you connect or login to your account with Facebook, Facebook shares with us personal information about you such as your name and your Facebook ID. 

9. Any changes to our Privacy Policy will be posted to the Website and, where appropriate, through e-mail notification.
